New Release for Tellen's Place Designs

I haven't had much time to do much crafting lately. Son still in plaster with a broken ankle!
I have tried to keep up with my new duties as a DT member over on Tellen's Place.

Today is the day! TPD has new images released at the store and guess what - if you buy ONE, you get ONE FREE! That's right! This buy one, get one free sale will continue until the October 2nd, so hurry and get 'em while they're HOT!!

Get on over and check out the rest of the Diva's crafty masterpieces. This one is mine..... WICKED GRETCHEN.
I had a blast when putting this together.
Coloured with promarkers with just a touch of fine liner in the hair and blood pool. I added glossy accents to the "blood" to add a freshness to it and to her boots. The effect of blood soaking into her dress was done by holding a PM onto the reverse of the image and letting it seep through
I made a shallow box shape to lift her out of the other "room" The papers are all from the Velvet Descent range from Crafty Chaos. The sentiment was computer generated by me and heat embossed then inked with distress ink.
I won't distress the cutesie lovers by detailing the other image but some will recognise it.

a close up of this great image .... had to scan it in the end as the camera kept going out of focus

Bling week for Tellen's Place

First I am going to apologise if this posts early.... going to try and schedule it for later today ... Having to go to work today. Long story, son broke his ankle 2 weeks ago and they were unsure if he would need it pinned. This means that all his chores are having to be done by me. He had been told to rest it or suffer the knife and surgery. Anyway, back to hossy again yesterday instead of work, managed to get a shift slide hence my week is turned upside down yet again. Good news - he's allowed to put weight on it now so he can hobble about a bit more **grin**.

OK back to business......

Bling week at Tellen's Place!!!!! (I am sure Terry is in cahoots with all the other challenge setters out there.....BLING!!!!)
This next project started off as a little joke and spiralled away. Plenty of glitter of all colours was used......
2 TPD images, Pukele and Skullflame were first printed onto acetate. Then bit by bit I glued glitter on in sections. Waiting for each bit to dry before going onto the next was the tedious bit.

While this was going on, I started on the's where the recycle bit comes in...... an aluminium box, originally used to house spot lights in ceilings has been sitting on hubby's workbench for ages, well there were 2 ...... the other has been earmarked by me as well, hehehehe......I made a cover with thinnish orange chipboard, cutting holes in 2 sides to take the 2 images. When the glue was all dry on the acetate and cleaned of all the excess glitter, these 2 panels were stuck in place. The sides were then finished off with loads of flame shaped pieces of red, orange and shiny holographic red cardstock and some paper from my DWCV Taj Mahal range which has glitter embedded in it. Then as a finishing touch, some sparkly gold ribbon that has been in my stash for ages.
Some pics here wouldn't go amiss ........
Pukele with and without candle light......

and Skullflame......

A rather long post I'm afraid and thank you for staying with me.
Now I hope you have either been or are going to look at all the other Divas' creations, I'm sure you will love what you see.

The reason this is a late entry into the Stamp It Crazy challenge this week is because I had to wait until today to post ... for obvious reasons. But the recycled challenge they have going over there seemed to fit this as it is an old lighting box used.

Haunted House

I knew exactly what I was going to attempt for this challenge for a Haunted house over on Haunted Design House and I think it came out not tooo bad.
My take on "Haunted House" is "Now you see it..... Now you don't", a ghost house, a brick built Marie Celeste.
Armed with an image of a haunted house from google, a ruler and cutting tools, I set to work cutting it all into strips and sticking onto a concertina'd piece of black card stock. Then on alternative strips stuck a scene I had created with a white gel pen and a white stamped image of an old tree from de Stempenwinkle. This was boxed in to neaten. So from one angle you see the house ... the other .. it's gone. The path leading to the house, in the "garden", we have planted a few gravestones. These are from the "Holy City" stamp set from Smeared Ink. The technique used was "Soot Stamping" as detailed on Third Coast .. here . I love the misty effect created by this.

I am also entering this into Creative Inspirations challenge this week for using 2 or more stamped images. The tree being #1 and the Graveyard being #2 although there is another couple of crows in the graveyard as well making 3.
Art on the Darkside challenge #62 is for haunted houses so I have entered this into there as well.
Rounding off with another challenge - this time over on the new Gingerloft challenge #2 who are also running a Happy Haunting challenge.

Girly Girl For SIC!!!!

What's all this girly girl stuff? I have struggled with this challenge from Stamp It Crazy I have to admit, but I am not one to admit defeat easily. I uummmmed and aarrred about the image to use. In the end used this one from Digistamps4joy which I picked up a while ago as a freebie. That is blue mirri card at the back but this light makes it look darker. I used PM's to colour and just some pigment ink to blend in the edges. The DP's are from DCWV Citrus range. Ribbons are from stash and flowers from Crafty Feelings.

Witches in Monochrome

Monochromatic Monstrosities for Barb over on Haunted Design House this week. As mentioned the other day - I had a couple of sheets of images all coloured in and all in grey/black. That bit on the up and coming challenges on the blog was a great insight into what was going to be needed. I've come to the conclusion I actually like colouring in monochrome, it provides a bit more of a challenge. Anyway back to this project......
I used 2 of the witches images from Smeared Ink - "Ghouly" and "Wicked". The stripes are a grey linen look paper onto which I randomly stamped a ghosty image and then cut up. The sentiment was computer generated by me. It was all distressed and inked with black. The "top" was then layered onto distressed black paper that I inked with grey ink and then layered onto grey card stock.
Dafty me . I was so intent on getting the 6 stripes in for the Smeared and Smudged sketchy this month, thinking I could combine the two challenges, that I forgot it was only 1 image. Looks like I'll be doing another for that. Oh well.
Over on the Two Sisters Challenge Blog - The monochrome challenge is still going on and you can enter more than once.... so am entering this there as well, as well as over on Darkness Inspiration, their theme is witches, and the new challenge blog Gingerloft Challenge where for their fist challenge - anything goes.

I'm Dead ....SIC

No I'm not dead yet. But Stamp It Crazy are challenging us to design our own gravestone!!! How could I resist? Only stipulation was that the design should be in black, grey and red. Also it had to have a moon in it. Thinking cap goes on. Have to have a good think of the image I'd like others to see depicting ME........ well those that know me will know that my name is Angel.......Hahaha, fallen Angel is more like it!! OK that's my theme.
Grave stone is an image from hedstone that I have adapted with a stamp it crazy image that has in it's turn been adapted. I promise there was no blood. This was all printed onto grey cardstock and inked, adding a little dimension down the sides. The whole gravestone was mounted onto papers from printable heaven(bats) and Crafty Choas after adding a couple of feathers for the angel wings from grandson's crafty box. There are 2 little background stamps there from stempenwinkel. The moon is a circle of pearlised white paper.
The whole thing was then mounted onto black cardstock then onto grey.

Elegantly Evil for HDH

Elegant eh?
Well if it's one thing I am not, it's elegant!!! But that's the challenge over on Haunted Design House this week. I had to think on this real hard and even when I'd put it all together, it has sat on my shelf for a couple of days.... I keep wanting to add more to it. NOOOOOOO. One of the styles of cards that I do consider elegant is CAS. It was this style I was trying to emulate here. Not easy for me. Well before I relent and do something silly to this, I took my pics and put it away.

Using a sheet of DCWV cardstock from the TajMahal range, Christina the Vamp from Smeared Ink digi range, coloured with PM's (second image was flipped) and a gothic cross in the centre panel, put this little effort together. The sentiment is computer generated by me. The font is intended to be slightly strange and gothic and just "looked right" like this especially after greying it up with water colours. The words "football anyone" is a twist on the fact that the girls look like they're about to kick off a game with those skulls.
Also entering it into "O the horror" challenge on Smeared nd Smudged forum. Theme this month is 30 Days of Nights.

Well I had fun - that's the main thing.

Tellen's Place Welcome Back

Hi to all. Any regular visitors to Tellen's Place Designs will know by now that I was asked by Terry to join them on the design team. A position that's both exciting and daunting at the same time. Well, to cut a long story short, that lovely lady Sandra and I are now elevated to that dizzy height. Joining forces with the other wonderful team members to bring you some more exciting challenges and hopefully a bit of inspiration along with it. Don't forget to go visit everyone and see their marvellous projects.

This week to welcome everyone back, Terry has said "Anything Goes". So a nice easy way to start off.
I have chosen to depict 4 of those marvellous dark images which I love so much, all on a side stepper card made from brown cardstock with backing papers from Crafty Chaos, distressed. From left to right, the images are Skeletorking, Colbra, Dragslither and Skulleon. I subtitled the card "Clash of the Titans" as they are clearly not friends.
The images were all printed onto white cardstock and coloured using promarkers. Little bits of glossy accents were used on the eyes. Then 'rough cut' out following the general shape. The distressing ink used on all was Forest Green, using more on some images to give different intensities.
I suppose a few images to go with my rambling wouldn't go amiss.
You TP fans will have seen a sneak peak on wednesday of Skulleon.

His adversary is the tail end of Colbra

While the head of Colbra is vieing with Dragslither

Skeletorking, in the mean time, is on his way to join the fray

The whole thing looks like

There we have it friends.
Now lets have a look at what you can make for us to come and admire.
There will be a prize of 3 free images for the winner of the challenge, so that is a wonderful incentive to take part in our challenge. Its all about having fun.

dragon in monochrome

I've been in monochrome mode over the last couple of days!! I looked back at the images I've been colouring in and I have 2 sheets of black/grey images. Time I cut a few out and made a couple of cards.
This image from Stamping Dragon Designs was one I was lucky enough to pick up while a freebie over on CDAC a few weeks ago and never got round to colouring. Then while wandering round blogland visiting a few of the blogs I lurk in, including the Dragon's Den, I came across a challenge being sponsered by them over on the 2 Sisters Challenge Blog. A monochromatic challenge this week....just right for this image.
OK. The main black and white BP is from the Angel company that I distressed with black ink. then added a piece of black and white patterned paper that's been in my drawer for ages (originally gifted by a friend) which I layered onto glossy black cardstock. Then came the black organza ribbon from stash. On top of that came Dino layered onto that glossy black cardstock after a bit of dry embossing. Finished off with a few black and white flowers.
The whole thing was then attached to a white cardstock base card.

I haven't yet added a sentiment as I tend to do this to fit the occasion when giving to someone.

Stamp it Crazy #3. Dracula's Bride

I combined 3 challenges with this card once I knew where I was going with everything. I had an idea for the "Red Hood" for the Stamp it Crazy challenge kicking around in my head for a couple of days and had the image from SIC as a freebie over on CDAC this month. Just had to make the cloak. Using red organza I fashioned a hooded cloak, using wire (metal) to keep the hood shape, having already coloured the image using PM's.
Then started on making the roses. This was to compliment the roses on the "Halloween Bride" papers from Crafty Chaos. I made loads as you can see, 13 to be precise, and because I also wanted to enter this into the Rock n Rolla Challenge for September over on the Smeared and Smudged forum they had to be red. This month is based on the gothic song "Where The Wild Roses Grow"by Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue.
Then the base of the easel card....... more roses. This time on a triangle of red card, the edges of which I trimmed with red and black ribbon, cut to form triangles. The black heart is made from plaiting black ribbon with more wire (metal again). Then the essential object for any vampire - somewhere to wait out the daylight hours - a coffin - made from black cardstock. This also provides the anchor for the easel.

Tiddly Inks "Creepy Cute" for HDH

Creepy cute???? Had a job getting my head round that I must admit. Macabre Mondays over on Haunted Design House have gone cutesy!!! - but in a different way than most would expect. Tiddly Inks who are sponsoring this week have some other images as well as the real cutesy, and it's with those that the Minions have magic'd into some great works of art.
My effort .....
I have to get started on some crimbo stocking fillers so......
making another notebook cover with black cardstock and layering some black/white rose paper onto some pearlised white created the diamond shape in the middle. Then added Katrina from TI, coloured with promarkers, leading her pet Grumpy from Smeared Ink on a rather prickly leash. Finished off with one of the gel pens that I picked up for a few more like this.

More for the Duck Pond

Well I went away for a few days..... took the basic of basic crafting stuff with me .... come on - I had to have something to do while listening to hubby snoring!! Using the card kit from The Duck Pond
made a few more cards. I left room between the 2 little die cut ducks that were in the kit for a sentiment "A little bird told me" type one. Even got to add another crimbo card to the pile that will be needed.

With some of the scraps I even got to cover some little notebooks that will be in people's stockings this year.

I still have a few scraps left over and some of that scrummy ribbon ..... watch this space or better still have a go yourself!!!!!
